SC-3 in Anderson County GOP Debate

Tomorrow 11-26-08 my FEC Form 2 (Statement of Candidacy), goes in the mail and my accountant is considering becoming the treasurer of the campaign. This is the beginning of my journey to follow in Dr. Paul's footsteps as a champion of the Constitution and win a seat as the Republican Representative of Congressional District 03 in South Carolina. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers.

Today 12-4-08 I received a candidate ID number from the FEC. H0SC03069. The link is here http://query.nictusa.com/cgi-bin/fecimg/?H0SC03069 One more more small step for Liberty. My campaign can now accept donations. Web site is under construction, dedicated banking account is up, and mailing address is Vasovski for Congress PO Box 7121 Aiken, South Carolina 29804-7121. Primaries are in June 2010 so we have a good jump on this process. Please help by passing this on.

12-8-08 Besides my wife and parents, there have been 2 people who have had a big influence on my life. Both are physicians and both are from the Houston Texas area. The first is Dr. Harry S. Lipscomb. Harry is a bright, articulate (both written and spoken) and friendly man, who in the mid 1970's moved from Houston where he taught at the Baylor School of Medicine, to Bryan, Texas where I met him and was given a job working as a medical assistant in his Internal Medicine office. He encouraged me along and was the major factor in my choosing General-Family Outpatient Practice as the field of medicine I would eventually enter, practice and enjoy as a full time career to this day. Harry has since retired from medicine and moved to Iowa but not without stopping along the way to get another degree, this one in Philosophy. The second physician popped into my life almost accidentally as I was channel surfing the cable TV and thanks to the Republican Presidential debates in Columbia, South Carolina in mid 2007, discovered Dr. Ron Paul. As with so many, he "cured my apathy", arroused me from the stupor that we can get into by living a spoon fed, misinformed and dumded down existence. Now if things go as planned, life will take me in another direction. Instead of one on one physician patient interaction, it will be one on many; via public service in Congress where the tools of the trade will be speaking, interviews, written articles etc. but still with an interest and dedication to people. By allowing their lives to improve and prosper through the concepts of limited and honest government, individual liberty and personal responsibility; I hope to be able to have an influence on their lives, much as the two physicians mentioned above have had on me.

12-12-08 In the September 8th 2008 Vanity Fair magazine there was one of the better articles written about the Ron Paul campaign for the Presidency entitled Inside Ron Paul's Counter-Convention. It was in the comments section though that something reached out and grabbed me. "Posted 9/8/2008 by marilynlj I was born and grow up in socialist country of Czechoslovakia. I came to USA 38 years aago looking for Freedom. Now I'm watching how we are loosing our freedom. That is why I become Ron Paul supporter, become precinct delegate, attended the Rally, came back energized, made a flayer and went with it to our church festival last weekend, talked to over 100 people and asking them to join us, maybe 1/2 of them knew who Ron Paul is and thanked me for informing them about Campaign for Liberty. My next step is making more flayers and knock on every door in my precinct and move to next precinct, and the next.......waking people up!" My father and mother came to the United States of America shortly after WWII and both appreciated the freedom that this country has provided us. I can almost hear my father's voice in the persons' message quoted above. My dad served 26 years in the US Air Force and instilled in his children an appreciation for what we have. Sometimes it takes someone with an outside perspective to refresh in us what we might take for granted.

12-15-08 This past Saturday the 13th of December, I went on my very first campaign outing. This trip took me to the town of McCormick, South Carolina, the county seat of McCormick County which boarders the state of Georgia. As rural as it gets, this countys' southeastern edge runs along the Savannah River and most of the county itself consists of the Sumter National Forrest. It was a bright, sunny and cool day, perfect for a traditional Christmas parade which was kicked off with a pancake breakfast fundraiser to benefit the all volunteer fire department. Spent time with Chief Mike and learned about the funding of the McCormick Fire Department (won't bore you with that here except to say it ain't cheap). The firehouse was cleared of the trucks and picnic tables were lined up to recieve hungry visitors. After paying a very reasonable donation of $5 each for myself and Jeff (the videographer and photographer who came along to record the goings on) I sat down and introduced myself and mentioned why we were visiting. Not having done this before, I was a touch apprenhsive, all without cause. The reception of the people sitting around us was genuine, warm and they seemed interested and impressed that someone running for Congress in 2010 was already dropping in. From there we walked out to the main street where the floats and participants to the parade were lining up. This gave me the chance to talk to people individually and for Jeff to get some video footage and hopefully good still photos. Can't wait to see the ones with me holding the black and white baby goats. Goats for Votes? Did get to meet most of the Republican Lady's organization and they want me to come back to speak to their club in the spring. After a good hour and a half, we packed up the gear and headed back to Aiken. At my house we recorded a Christmas message on DVD for Dr. Paul and his family and called it a day. I am reminded of the Jib Jab surely most of you have seen about McCain and Obama called Campaigin'. Yes indeed "it's time again for some campaigin". Got to keep this R3VOLUTION going.

12-29-08 This past Saturday with the help of my nephew who is home from law school in Fort Worth, I joined Facebook (FB). 54 year olds like myself have generally felt that the world of social networking is for a younger generation. Well I was sadly mistaken on that issue for in no time I was linked to people with whom there had not been enough contact in the last year, many older than I. Upon seeing these faces, the realization struck that in mentioning people who had significantly influenced my life, there was no mention of the person responsible for my initial Christian spiritual awakening. We met during the first year of medical school when there was essentially no moral compass and thanks to his and his wife's friendship and guidance, that changed. Undoubtely that conversion has been a factor in avoiding pitfalls and making choices that have permitted me to hold myself out for elected office. For that he is owed a great debt of gratitude.Thank you, Mike.

Facebook also put me in direct email contact with Adam Kokesh today and perhaps if the opportunity presents itself, Adam can visit South Carolina for a rally and support our candidacy and the cause of liberty later in 2009 as he has done so well at other events. We also now have a dedicated cell number 803-522-0913.

Would like to close for now by taking this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy New Year.

4-5-09 Yesterday evening I had the chance to spend nearly 2 hours with one of our County Councilman who is probably one the most knowledgable people about politics I have spoken to. He listened to my explanation behind the motives to my campaign for Congress and shared with me the facts of political life as he sees them. Based on his resume', his council will be taken to heart and it is now more clear that this journey is going to be even harder than previously anticipated. Yesterday the Financial Disclosure Statement Form B went in the mail to the Office of the Clerk, US House of Representatives and soon you'll be able to go on line and learn more about my life than I ever thought would appear on line. Income, assests and investments, all there for everybody to see. Small price to pay for the priviledge to serve in Congress and continue the fight to maintain our liberties and freedom. Till later, -mike
